Our Centre in West Burleigh is a peaceful meditation space that provides the perfect conditions for improving our meditation practice and deepening our peace of mind. Most of our classes at the Centre are taught by our Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Tsalden, an ordained Buddhist nun with over 10 years experience as a Resident Teacher in the New Kadampa Tradition. Everybody is welcome to attend classes at the Centre and we offer a range of options including learn to meditate classes and practical advice for daily life to in-depth classes through our enrolled Foundation Program. Drop-in any week.

Advice For A Happy Life

Learn practical methods to find peace and lasting happiness in our busy modern lives through following the beautiful Advice from Atisha’s Heart, a much-loved ancient Buddhist text.  Everyone is welcome. There is no need to book or enrol for this class and you can drop in any week.

Course Description

If we wish to enjoy good relationships, it is essential that we learn to distinguish between love and attachment. While love brings only good results and happiness, attachment brings only problems and suffering such as craving, jealousy, dependence and conflict.

Daytime Meditation & Buddhism for Parents with Babies

These classes are specifically designed for parents and grandparents with young babies. Learn Buddhist methods to overcome painful, unhelpful states of mind and instead cultivate peace and happiness.

At our Tuesday Parents class, the essential points from the current drop-in course are explained by Resident Teacher Gen Tsalden.

Kids Meditation Class

Sunday 3 March
These classes introduce children of all ages to simple Kadampa Buddhist teachings and meditations designed to help them solve their problems and develop a happy heart.  Every class will emphasise loving kindness and cultivating a positive mind.

Classes also include simple prayers, fun activities and discussions relevant to their everyday experiences.  Classes are self-contained so it is easy for parents to bring their kids whenever they wish.

Time:  10:00am – 11:00am

Suggested age:  5 – 10 years, children to be accompanied by an adult.

Class fee:  $5 per child.  No booking is required.

Free 15 Minute Meditation

Free Every Friday

Relax the mind and find some inner peace. Drop-in to the Centre for a free 15-minute meditation. There is no need to book. All meditations are guided. Everyone is welcome and there’s no need to bring anything. Starts Friday 1 February.

Time:  11:00am – 11.15am / 11:30am – 11.45am / 12noon – 12.15pm
