Gen Kelsang Tsalden is a fully ordained, western Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher of Ganden Kadampa Buddhist Centre in West Burleigh on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Ordained in 2006 by her Teacher – fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche – Gen Tsalden has studied Modern Buddhism extensively, both in Australia and the UK.
As Modern Buddhism provides a complete re-presentation of the Buddhist path in accordance with the needs and inclinations of the modern world, it is extremely relatable and relevant, particularly in today’s climate of fear and uncertainty and increasing issues in our society such as anxiety and depression.
Gen Tsalden teaches several study programs as a part of her role as Resident Teacher on the Gold Coast, from simple weekly drop-in classes, to an intensive, higher level study of a complete Buddhist text, over the course of several years.
With more than a decade of experience in teaching and public speaking, she is not only an accomplished presenter at an intellectual level, but also imparts a deep, personal experience of the practice of Buddhism in daily life. Her clear, warm and light hearted delivery of profound, life-changing Buddhist teachings, makes her classes and courses extremely popular and has seen a new generation of young Gold Coasters discovering and using these practical, logical and helpful instructions, to solve their daily problems and increase their happiness and peace of mind.
