MEDITATION IN THREE EASY STEPS

Restore your inner peace and unlock your minds’ potential for lasting happiness. Join us for a relaxing day retreat in a quiet and peaceful environment, providing a rare opportunity to refresh your mind through meditation. Through meditation we can learn how to relax and develop peaceful and positive states of mind.

Three easy steps:

  1. Motivation: We do what we want to do. By appreciating and contemplating the many benefits of having a regular meditation practice, we’ll encouraged and come to enjoy greater inner peace and happiness every day of our life.
  2. Preparation: Laying the foundation for effective meditation. Through some simple, practical preparations, we’ll create a solid foundation for success in our meditation practice.
  3. Transformation: Meditation is a powerful tool for personal growth and profound inner transformation.  Understand how to use meditation to effect this inner transformation and become the very best version of ourself.

Everybody is welcome to attend this course, regardless of experience. This beginners meditation retreat will consist of practical teachings and short guided meditations that will give rise to a peaceful feeling in the mind and improve your ability to live a peaceful life.

 

What To Expect

There are three sessions in this workshop. They consist of an introduction, simple breathing meditation and teaching and conclude with a contemplative meditation on the teaching from that session.

Buddhist meditation involves staying alert and keeping our back straight, so we sit on chairs for the duration of the course. There’s no need to bring anything, although you may wish to bring some water and a jacket. Refreshments are provided in the break session.

Attendees come from all walks of life and there’s no need to have any meditation experience as all meditations are guided.  Everyone is welcome.

About The Teacher

Gen Kelsang Ani

Gen Kelsang Ani is Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane and the Gold Coast and teaches all the main classes and courses at both Centres.

Gen Ani has been studying and practising Modern Kadampa Buddhism with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 15 years. Ani teaches with warmth and compassion, making modern Buddhism accessible and applicable to all.

All our venues comply with COVID-safe guidelines. Hand sanitiser will be available at the event. Brunch and refreshments are prepared under the strictest COVID19-safe conditions by a fully accredited food preparation person.

COVID19 RESPONSIBILITIES

To keep everyone safe, we ask that you don’t come to classes if you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of illness.

In keeping with Qld Govt regulations, we maintain social distancing at all our classes and we ask that you register on arrival.

Masks must be worn while standing and moving around, however they can be removed once you are seated.

Our focus is to keep everyone safe and healthy and we appreciate your cooperation.

HELPING ON THE DAY

You are very welcome to arrive early and help our volunteers set up for the day. We also need help packing and cleaning up afterwards. If you’d like to stay and help, you are most welcome to.
